Biography

Howard is a writer and private tutor living in Grays, Essex. He obtained a first degree in philosophy and French at the Queen's College Oxford (1978-1981) and an M.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy at McMaster University, Canada (1981-1986).He also holds a master's degree in computer studies and a certificate of education. From 1990 to 2003, he taught computer studies at Palmer's College in Grays. Since then, Howard has been devoting himself to private tutoring in Maths, French and English in the Thurrock area and to writing philosophy.

He has a range of philosophical interests, including ethics and philosophy of language. His publications and past presentations are listed here.

He is an official adviser to schoolteachers of philosophy for the British Philosophical Association, with responsibility for the Association's 'Philosophical Answers' website . He is also a Philpapers editor for the topic 'minimalism about truth' (Click here for my Philpapers home page) .
